Cabinetry Increases
Custom cabinets have been a handcrafted in America since the late 1800s just after the Civil War. However woodworking, millwork and furniture-making dates back even further to the ancient Egyptians and the Chinese. With the advent of the industrial revolution and rising demand, cabinets became mass produced which put many small cabinet shops out of business. Cabinetry eventually became little more than a hobby in the mid-20th century but now that has all changed! In the 21st century, we've seen a growth in the custom cabinetry industry with several professional cabinet makers across the country honing their skills and designing custom cabinets for residential applications. Our Beginnings
Since the late 90s, we have provided homeowners with cabinets, countertops and custom millwork for their home and custom projects. Atlantic Cabinetry began with the purchase of an existing shop on Route 1. Our owners saw such a demand for custom cabinetry in the Delaware area that they decided to expand their millwork business and offer new products. Expanding into the realm of custom furniture and cabinets led to production of custom built ins, bars, mantles, and also bookcases.
Our Dedication
Atlantic Cabinetry is affiliated with the Atlantic Millwork Corporation which began as a local building materials and supply company. Together both companies are dedicated to customer service. With each of our five owners dedicated to a division of the company, we're dedicated to operating the best custom cabinetry shop on the Delmarva Peninsula. Mark Woodruff is our President and head of the back office operations. He keeps our corp working smoothly. Richard Reed is our Vice President and he's very involved with the Sales Department so if you visit the showroom you might run into him. Our Warehouse Operations and Delivery are headed by Wayne Bister while the custom shop is run by Richare Doyle and our installation services are handled by Mickey Brown.
